DentalMarket — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information DentalMarket ("we," "us") collects when you use the DentalMarket mobile application (the "Service"), how we use it, and who we share it with. It applies to everyone who uses DentalMarket, including guests browsing without an account.

2. Information We Collect

Account information (when you register): your name, email address, professional title, first and last name, specialty, province, and one or more mobile phone numbers.

Delivery information (when you place an order as a buyer): a delivery address and a contact phone number for that order. This can be pre-filled from a saved default on your profile, and you can edit it at checkout each time.

Listing information (when you sell): the item's category, condition, description, photos, price, and your chosen delivery method.

Order and payment information: order status, the commission rate and any fees that applied to that order, and the payment reference number you submit for manual verification. We do not collect or store your card, bank, or QiCard/ZainCash account details directly — payment itself happens outside the app through those services, and you only provide us the resulting reference number for us to verify.

Usage information: which listings you've viewed (used to show anonymous view counts), your watchlist, your ratings/reviews, questions you've asked sellers, and reports you've filed.

Guest/anonymous data: if you browse without creating an account, we assign an anonymous session so you can browse, but we do not collect your name, email, or other personal details until you create a real account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Operate the marketplace — display listings, process orders, and track order status.
• Verify payments manually and release payouts to sellers.
• Deliver items — sharing delivery details with the relevant seller or DentalMarket's delivery process, only as needed.
• Communicate with you about your orders, listings, or account (including email verification, delivery notifications, and dispute updates).
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or attempts to arrange transactions outside the platform.
• Review reports and disputes you or others file.
• Maintain the security of the Service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as follows:

• With sellers: if you buy an item and the seller chose to deliver it themselves, that seller receives your delivery name, address, and phone number — but only after your payment has been verified, and only for that specific order. We do not share your delivery information with any other user, and it is never shared before payment is verified.
• With buyers: sellers' names may be visible to buyers on listings and orders; sellers' delivery/contact information is never shared with buyers.
• With DentalMarket administrators: our own staff can access account, order, and dispute information as needed to verify payments, resolve disputes, review reports, and operate the Service.
• With service providers: DentalMarket is built on Google's Firebase platform, which provides our authentication, database, and hosting infrastructure. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's own data-processing terms; we do not separately sell or share your data with unrelated third parties.
• For legal reasons: if required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DentalMarket or its users.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored using Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase), a cloud database. We use access-control rules to restrict who can read or write different types of data — for example, only you and DentalMarket administrators can read your delivery address; other users, including the seller you're buying from, cannot see it until your payment is verified and only for that specific order. No method of storing or transmitting data is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information.

6. Your Choices and Rights

• You can view and update most of your account information from the Profile screen in the app.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us (Section 10). We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
• If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, transaction history for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes).

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Historical order records (including the fees that applied at the time) are kept even if account information changes later, so that past transactions remain accurate.

8. Children's Privacy

DentalMarket is intended for use by dental professionals and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

9. Third-Party Services We Use

• Firebase Authentication (including Google Sign-In) — for account creation and login.
• Cloud Firestore — our database, where your account, listing, and order information is stored.
• Firebase Hosting — for supporting pages such as password reset links.

These services are provided by Google and are governed additionally by Google's own privacy and data-processing terms.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date at the top of this document when we do. Continued use of DentalMarket after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
